I heard a song on the oldies station (60's and 70's) and need to know what song it is.?

The song is sung by a male singer. I think it is about him losing his
love, and he wants desperately to get her back. I know that he says
something about sleeping on her porch if it gets her to see him again.
I believe he also says he doesn't care if he looks pathetic, he will
beg and plead to get her back. I've Googled just about everything I
can think of, and nothing is coming up.

It is not John Mayer's "Split Screen Sadness", nor is it Keith
Whitley's "Some Old Side Road" as Google and my friends have guessed.
